Guest Experience Associate

Edge of Elsewhere is a new, 12,000 square-foot immersive world of art, puzzles, and mysteries, coming to Somerville in Fall 2026. Inside, players collaborate to solve puzzles and complete storylines as they explore a wide variety of themed interactions.

The Role

Guest Experience Associates are the heart of Edge of Elsewhere! You'll greet guests, support them as they explore, keep things running smoothly on the floor, and help everyone leave more delighted than when they arrived. It's hands-on and people-first, and a great fit for someone who loves creating memorable experiences. No previous experience required.

Who We’re Looking For

The right person for this role likes people and lights up when they can make someone’s day a little better. You're welcoming, reliable, and comfortable on your feet in a busy space. You stay calm when it gets hectic, pitch in without being asked, and care about the small details that make an experience feel spectacular. Whatever your background - student, artist, performer, hospitality or retail - what matters most is your warmth and curiosity to learn.

Responsibilities

As a Guest Experience Associate, you’ll spend your shifts on the floor, taking care of guests and the immersive experience. Day to day, you will:

  • Welcome and assist guests as they move through the space and answer their questions.
  • Support guests of all kinds with patience and warmth, and an eye for accessibility and comfort.
  • Stay alert to guest and staff safety, and respond calmly if an issue arises.
  • Assist with operating interactive elements and keep props and installations working and in place.
  • Help keep the venue clean and reset throughout the day including restrooms, the floor, and the space between guests.
  • Pitch in wherever the team needs a hand during a shift.

Must-Have Skills & Attributes

  • A welcoming, friendly presence and enjoyment of working with people. Reliability. You show up on time and ready.
  • You stay calm and helpful in a busy, high-energy environment.
  • You are comfortable being on your feet and moving throughout the venue for full 4 to 8 hour shifts.
  • Willingness to help with light cleaning and resets as part of every shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in Somerville, MA.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Enthusiasm for immersive or location-based entertainment.

Other Desirable, But Not Necessary, Skills & Experience

  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, tour guiding, or live events.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale or ticketing systems.
  • A love of puzzles, games, immersive experiences, or storytelling.

We do not expect every candidate to have experience in all of the above. We are looking for someone with the warmth, care, and curiosity to learn quickly in the areas that are new.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $15-20 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Flexible scheduling.

  • Benefits available to employees who work 30 or more hours per week.
